Meet the Team

Dr. Keith Kepler

Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Kepler began his foray into advanced energy research & development as part of his higher education experience. Armed with a BS in Materials Science, an MS in Chemistry, and his PhD in Chemistry, he spent time at both Argonne National Laboratories and PolyStor Corporation before co-founding Farasis Energy in 2002. Since then, he’s headed Farasis as the Chief Technology officer.

Dr. Madhuri Thakur

Director of Research & Development

Dr. Thakur brings a long history as a research and material scientist. During her years of formal education, including earning her PhD in Physics, she began specializing in developing and optimizing lithium-ion battery technology. Her hard work and research—which includes exploring fast-charging capabilities—has situated her at the forefront of many advanced energy breakthroughs, particularly with silicon anodes.

Through her years of study and practical application, Dr. Thakur gained extensive experience taking li-ion technology from idea conceptualization to commercialization. She has authored and co-authored several published works exploring the nuances of materials selection in lithium-ion battery applications.

Jack Johnson

Global VP of Business Development

Jack is an advanced energy storage expert and the co-founder of two unique technology companies specializing in mobile and grid energy storage. As an engineer, Jack was instrumental in the development of US lithium-ion infrastructure. As a businessman, he pays careful attention to strategic objectives, problem solving and team development. While his career is steeped in driving innovation and lean process improvement, Jack also cultivates deep, meaningful, lasting partnerships and business relationships across industries.

Marcel Brömlage

Plant Manager

Marcel brings a long history with the automotive industry and adjacent technologies. He’s spent decades honing his project management and high-level operations roles for a variety of companies, most recently as the General Manager of Farasis Energy Europe & USA.

Robert Tan

Chief Financial Officer

Robert Tan serves as the Chief Financial Officer, where he oversees all aspects of financial management, information technology, office operations, strategic planning, and the establishment of company policies and procedures.
Robert leads and provides strategic direction to a multi-functional team of skilled professionals in finance and information technology. His team encompasses experts in accounting and controls, audit, financial planning, tax, treasury, and investor relations, all of whom collaborate with business leaders to implement the company’s profitable growth strategy.

With over 30+ years of diverse experience in financial and IT management, business leadership, and corporate executive roles, Robert brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Farasis. Prior to joining Farasis, he served as the Finance and IT Manager at UMAX Computer Corporation, Finance Director at Global Marketing Company, and Vice President of Finance at Imacon Inc. He was also the President of Tekwell Inc. and the Chief Operating Officer at Farasis Energy, Inc. Since 2019, he has been the Chief Financial Officer of Farasis USA.

Additionally, Robert has held board positions, serving as a Director of Farasis Energy (Ganzhou) Limited from December 2017 to May 2019, and as a Director of Farasis Energy Technology (Ganzhou) since May 2019.

Robert holds a Master’s degree from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor’s degree from Soochow University in Taiwan.

Tiffany Ling

Director of Human Resources

Tiffany Vuong Ling, a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in Human Resources across diverse industries including nonprofit, private equity, manufacturing and logistics, specialty pharmacy, and now, lithium-ion battery. Armed with a Master’s in Public Administration, Tiffany has honed her expertise in fostering growth opportunities and advocating for employees, all while maintaining a delicate balance between organizational needs and employee welfare.
